JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE:  Bilingual (Spanish) Patient Access Representative

ORGANIZATION:  Dental Connections

REPORTS TO:  Patient Access Supervisor

 Position PurposeTo coordinate patient services in the reception area to ensure that all activities involved with patient processing are completed, including incoming patients, outgoing patients, and account processing.

Job Functions:

  • Greet patients & other visitors to the center;
  • Perform telephone responsibilities;
  • Understand, perform, and maintain exceptional patient processing responsibilities including:
    • Verify of all patient information such as address, phone, and insurance
    • Verify of patient insurance eligibility for all insurance plans
    • Obtain up-to-date health history and any other necessary forms
    • Notify dental staff of patient “ready” status
    • Complete patient walk-out process, including scheduling return appointment needs;
  • Confirm of dental appointments;
  • Track data information for reporting purposes including:
    • Broken or Cancelled Appointments
    • Patient Payments;
  • Handle requests to and from other Dental or Medical offices for any information needed;
  • Address any patient issues associated with patient processing;
  • Have ability to work Accounts Receivable in Eaglesoft as additional support to the Patient Access Supervisor;
  • Maintain basic knowledge of insurance coverages to assist with appropriate appointment scheduling for patient needs;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Education Requirement: High School Graduate or Equivalent;
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred;
  • Prior experience in a dental or medical office setting preferred;
  • Strong computer skills/experience required, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Programs and Electronic Patient Record systems;
  • Ability to multi-task, while maintaining a “patient first” approach;
  • Strong telephone skills, with pleasant personality and speaking voice;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain long-standing, professional relationships with employees and patients;
  • Ability to easily relate to diverse populations.
